About Me

Hello. My name is Kate Cary. I’ve been assuming only Warriors fans find this place and that they know about me already. (Warriors fans are fiercely loyal and frighteningly knowledgeable.) But you may have arrived here quite by accident and be wondering who on earth I am, and what on earth is Warriors, or indeed Bloodline.
I write fiction for children and young adults.
I began writing How To guides about things like Skipping and Being a Detective, as well as quite a few other similarly commercial products until one day I stumbled on a company called Working Partners. They liked my writing style and invited me to try out for a fantasy series they were putting together for HarperCollins; it was about feral cats, called Warriors and would be published under the pseudonym Erin Hunter. So I sent them some sample chapters and they liked my “voice” enough to allow me to write the first two books in the first series.
That was 8 years ago. We are now planning our fourth series. No one expected Warriors to be such a huge success. There is even talk of a movie.
In between writing Erin Hunter titles (alongside Cherith Baldry and, more lately, Tui Sutherland, and under the guidance of my fabulous editor, Victoria Holmes) I have also managed to write a couple of vampire novels: Bloodline and Bloodline: The Reckoning. I’m hoping there will be a third Bloodline novel, but my Erin work is keeping me busy at the moment.
And that is the story so far. I hope there will be more to it. I shall certainly keep you posted because no doubt you are agog.

Estrela”he said in his rough but sweet voice. She followed him deeper in the undergrowth. Matching his pace. Soon enough they stopped beside a black berry bush. Tempestade sat down and licked his forepaw. “First what do you smell” he asked her. Estrela put her nose high in the air. She breathed in and started to identify them. The freshest smell was the most tempting. Estrela’s mouth watered. Instincts took over and she slid herself into a perfect crouch. Estrela silently crept over, and saw a little pure white tail bobbing over a bush. Not taking any chances she jumped and landed on and small body. It hit the ground with a small thump. Estrela picked it up with her thistle sharp teeth. She carried it back proudly, her head held high. Estrela didn’t notice the Greek mark on it, ϕ. Tempestade padded up to her with a fat scaly thing. In his jaws. It smelled tempting but not as good as the white thing. He sat down beside her. Smiling he tossed over the scaly thing to her. Estrela tossed him the rabbit. When he bit into the white thing a bracken shacked. Revealing a Gold and spotted pelt hiding. “come here why are you spying on us” Tempestade asked it. I could tell it was another lynx. It responded in a shaky voice “I-I wasn’t s-spying, I was w-wondering i-if you c-could help m-me” “continue” Tempestade told her. “My mother and father died” she told him now no longer afraid. “Please will you take me in” she cried. Tempestade looked down on her she was a young lynx. “Okay” he said. The young lynxes eyes shined with happiness but malice too. Her grin revealed malice as well. Estrela could not forget that over the next few days.
It was a chilly night. A few days had passed since the lynx had joined them she told them her name was Noite. Noite was a bit cruel towards Estrela. As the days got colder food was even harder to find. On a windy day Estrela caught a scrawny rabbit. While Noite caught nothing. Noite scowled her and said “you should caught more especially in this cold.” She was even mooning over Tempestade. She sighed Tempestade didn’t even talk to her. Now he spent all his time with Noite. Even though she was sitting right next to him Noite was on the other side. She shifted her self a little bit. Tempestade raised his head and looked around ‘whats wrong Estrela” he asked her. “oh nothing” she replied. “Aren’t you tired” he implied. “yeah” she told him. “But the cold is stopping me” she lied. “ Curl up with me and we’ll share our warmth” Tempestade said. Estrela smiled sweetly. Noticing how Tempestade made her very happy. Do I like him she thought? I barley know him though. Her thoughts raced around her head. Soon she feel into a uneasy sleep.
You definetely have a gift, Nightleaf.
You definetely have a gift, Nightleaf. Amazing.
Thank you Rainpaw heres sime more!!
In the morning Noite was glaring at Estrela. With pure hatred. Estrela couldn’t help but shudder. Estrela walked right by her. She headed toward a stream and looked down at herself. She didn’t notice the big black bear lumbering toward her. When she diid she turned around and snarled the bar backed away a bit but
but, what???? Why didn’t you finish it?
but then kept on going. It growled and seemed to be calling out for help. Estrela growled back at it and got ready to attack. She then changed her mind when 1 more bear ran out of the bushes. The bear was white had it was huge. It seemed to be interested in Estrela. The brown bear charged at her and swiped at her. She roughly hit a splintered tree. The bear grapped her leg and twisted it in his big jaws. Estrela let out a howl of pain.
whoa, what happens next??????
The howl carried through the forest and reached Tempestade’s ears. The gray lynx raised his head and started at †he trees eye’s round with shock. He ran so fast that everything was a blur. Meanwhile the white bear was trying to stop the brown bear. He moved his paws and pounded them on the ground three times. The brown bear whipped around and snarled most likely saying “this is my prey back off!” Or “i’m about to get us a meal!” Estrela felt pain coming off in waves of her body. She let out a moan of pain. Tempestade saw Estrela hurt and faced the bears. He leaped on top of it and clawed its face. He jumped off and neatly dodged the brown bears swipe. Tempestade the nit its leg and ran around it and leaped on the bears back. he bit the bears shoulder while digging his claws in its back. The bear managed to get him off and fled the white bear pounding after him. Estrela felt herself start to lose concise, black shadows clouded her eyes. Tempestade sanded over Estrela she was badly wounded. He saw Noite pad in and stare at Estrela wide eyed. She looked at Tempestade and pressed her pelt against his and purr. He knew Noite liked him but there was somebody else. He hid a glance at Estrela and picked her up. He carried her to their shelter.
Estrela was in a bright and cheerful forest. That carried the smells of lot’s of prey and sunshine. A big and golden lynx padded up to her. “Sol” she exclaimed. She touched noses with him. But he just faded when she did “Sol” she cried out. Only his voice remained “Beware of one who’s heart is and black as and crow feather”
Noite was walking in the mountains. Her golden paws taking her to a dark cave she hissed under her breathe and started to change into her true self.
Who is Noite? Find out next time i post. The supense will be breath taking!!!!!!!!!
