Just finished Long Shadows

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

Wow!

Vicky sent me a copy last week and I’ve just finished reading it. See, I have to wait too! (Though, I’m sure if I asked, Vicky would show me an earlier draft, but I like anticipation and it always seems rude to peek at Cherith’s work before everyone else.)

Wow (again)! It’s wonderful.

This is such a very special book to all the Erins because it is dedicated to Emmy Cherry and her parents, Dana and Jimmy, who died in a tornado in February this year. Emmy is remembered in Long Shadows as Brightspirit, her parents as Shiningheart and Braveheart. Cherith has written the scene so beautifully it made me cry to read it. I got an email from Emmy’s community only this morning telling me how touched and joyful Emmy’s grandparents were to see Emmy and her mom and dad among the cats of StarClan, remembered and cherished.

I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did. Go, Cherith!

Happy Birthday Hawkheart!

Have a lovely day!

PS Cherith did write Long Shadows so I KNOW it will be great (she’s written book 6 too which I promise will be more stunning than you can imagine!)

Jake’s Cat

Monday, November 17th, 2008

I’m loving seeing your own warriors. Here’s Jake’s cat Raymond just returned from hunting with freshkill. Come on Jake, I think he deserves a warrior name after a catch like that!

Today I’m writing the most heartbreaking scene for Bluestar’s Prophecy. Remember when you’re finally reading it – Vicky made me do it!

Sydney’s Cat is Famous

Sydney, a Warrior fan (cool name by the way) sent me this gorgeous photo of her cat. I HAD to share because it looks so much like Miu-Miu.

My Cats Are Famous

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

Check this out. The Erins are guest bloggers! Yay! Sorry, no time to rootle out a picture for you today. Gotta finish this chapter of BP before dinner burns. I had a fabulous birthday on Tuesday btw. I had SO many cards and emails and phone calls. I have wonderful, wonderful friends and family. And my fans are pretty cool too. Gosh, I feel blessed. Anyway, just wanted to say I’m not cross any more. Actually I stopped being cross pretty quickly – I can never be cross for long. Oh, and before I go, you should know Vicky gets married on Saturday! I’m REALLY looking forward to it and I promise that if I get my mits on any wedding photos, I’ll share :)

OK, I lied about the picture – couldn’t resist this one of Tui’s dog!
